BACKGROUND

Jenny has always had an interest in psychology and after graduating with a Degree in the subject, decided to see how this could be applied to help people. This led her onto training in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Equine Facilitated Human Development which joined her lifelong love of horses with human psychology. Jenny is passionate about helping people to reach their potential and likes to work responsively with people, adapting the process to their individual needs and preferences and has trained in different approaches in order to do this.

As well as her private practice, Jenny also works with IFEAL Qualifications Ltd as Programme Director and Dare to Live as a Facilitator on military veteran programmes (since 2010) and worked as a counsellor with Catalyst, a Surrey based addictions charity (2014-2017).

In addition to her psychotherapeutic work, Jenny is a Sue Gardner Applied Equine Behaviour trained groundwork instructor and offers Horsemanship Training and Consultations. Jenny has always had horses in her life and currently has two horses. Jenny aspires to work with, keep and teach others to be with horses in a way that is best for both the horse and the person. Not one method works for all and Jenny aims to integrate different approaches in order to provide solutions for horses and humans.

Jenny offers a wide range of services ranging from counselling and psychotherapy to horsemanship lessons and a combination of anything in between, with some work with horses and some without. Jenny is open to seeing clients of all ages, sex and walks of life, including LGBT individuals and those with DID.

TESTIMONIALS
Testimonials

"A very enlightening experience that helped me to understand why I had developed negative ways of dealing with any situation where I felt uncomfortable or challenged . It has taught me to be kinder to myself and not sink into the "drama " triangle when life gets tricky. I would highly recommend Jenny as a therapist .Thank you so much for helping me . X"

"My experience with Jenny was fantastic. Jenny has a wonderfully friendly and approachable manner and helped me to deal with several issues in my personal life. Together we practiced several tools and techniques that have been hugely beneficial in helping me to move my life forward."

"As a trainee counsellor I wanted to experience a session of equine assisted therapy to broaden my understanding. I brought my own personal emotional concerns into the session as a client for the afternoon. Therapy in the open air and in the presence of beautiful, gentle, powerful and characterful animals is a completely different experience. Their physicality encouraged me to be deeply in touch with my emotions and particularly my physical sensations. I was moved and filled with gratitude at this opportunity to be with such sensitive and knowing animals. Knowing they were 'reading' me allowed me to read myself differently. The judgement a horse offers is very different from the judgments we might experience from other people. Huge thanks to Jenny, Max and Bracken - though not necessarily in that order! I took away an inner smile that lasted for some hours and returns when I look back on the session."

"I have been to many counsellors and therapists in my life and always felt that they hadn't heard a word I had said, let alone been able to give me guidance and things to work on. Their eyes were always going back to the clock and a sentence would be broken for the ever "we have to leave it there" moment, UNTIL I met Jenny!

For the first time, she acknowledged what I had just said and so aptly put me at ease plus gave me little things to do and/or read in between our sessions. Jenny has the ability and understanding to help one make sense of the crazy things going on inside and outside of one's head.

Jenny helped me so much and I continue to refer to the notes and references she so kindly sent to me.  She is very special and gifted in this profession."

"I found this service extremely useful and I would not hesitate to utilise them again in the future. Thank you."

Jenny put me instantly at ease with her relaxed, gentle manner. She really helped me, and I feel confident she could help anyone.

I was always sceptical about Hypnotherapy, but after a few sessions I really begun to notice the difference. It wasn't magic, but instead unlocked my own potential to achieve results. Thanks Jennifer, the difference is incredible!

Having been thinking about the need to lose weight for, well years! Always worried that my willpower would stand in the way I went to see Jenny to find out if Hypnotherapy might help me put my barriers away and diet with success. After 5 sessions I noticed my confidence was boosted to the point that I found an effective diet program which I started! Without the calmness of the sessions with Jen I can't imagine that I would have been able to look inside and see that I do have the strength to put aside all my considerations and diet for myself, a healthier life and so I can finally be happy about the way I look! Sounds simple, but it was the hypnotherapy that has given me the confidence to get on with it and stick to it. Lost 10 lbs and counting!
